So what has happened in the New Year so far?
The Lakers went from bad to in contention for the top pick in next years draft. They are completely terrible and it is becoming unwatchable.
UCLA football got some great news when Coach Mora said no to Texas and a whole lot of other jobs and Brett Hundley decided to stick around for his Junior season. Big things in the works for that program.
UCLA basketball has played pretty well in the new year and hung with #1 Arizona before finally losing by 4 or 5 points. I can’t remember. I see things starting to come together for them however and I expect a great Pac-12 season and an even better NCAA tournament.
The BCS bowl games were pretty much all exciting. Even the National Championship was fun to watch. That doesn’t always happen and next year we will get our 4 team playoff. Who’s excited?
The Indianapolis Colts had one of the greatest comebacks in NFL playoff history and Andrew Luck made his statement on a big playoff win. Watch out for the Colts.
ESPN decided to do a list of the top 100 players of all time and put my #1 player, Ken Griffey Jr. at #35. I am already writing my emails to them. That’s blasphemy. Babe Ruth went #1 and Willie Mays #2, solid choices.
Bracketology is in full effect which means that it is getting near the best basketball month of the year. And I can’t wait!
