It’s been a while see we last spoke. I think the last post I had was about the dunk contest and I literally just used one word. At some point I will make posting a priority again. But, for now let’s see what’s going on.
The best part of the year is almost over as basketball season nears its end. Steph Curry is the first unanimous NBA MVP ever…. surprisingly enough. Not that he doesn’t deserve it, just that it’s amazing that it has never happened before. That shows you just why this voting system needs to be changed. Steph was by far the best player on the best team in the NBA and that all but guaranteed his status as MVP. Let’s not even mention the 400 3’s he hit during the regular season, breaking his own record by over 100.
Steph’s Warriors also set NBA records all over the place, but the most meaningful was the 73 wins. I don’t care what anyone says, if the 72-win Bulls were playing against this Warriors squad with NBA rules the way they are now, the Warriors would probably win a 7 game series in 6.
The NCAA tournament did not disappoint at all. From everyone’s favorite before the tournament, Michigan State, losing in the first round to Middle Tennessee State all the way to one of the best championship games in recent memory. Congrats to Villanova for such a great run. I’m surely glad that the final game was not like the mess that was the semifinal games. Looking at you Oklahoma.
Golf? Oh yeah, the Master…. What a monumental moment for Jordan Speith, leading by 4 or 5 on the 12th tee and leaving the 12th green down 2 shots. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. Danny Willett played amazing down the stretch and totally deserved that win.
Speith hasn’t completely had a terrible couple months. If you haven’t seen what he, Rickie Fowler, Smylie Kaufman and Justin Thomas did on vacation in the bahamas, check this out… Fun in the Bahamas That’s not even all of the fun they looked like they were having. Even Rory McIlroy tweeted out that he was sad that he chose to go on vacation with his girlfriend instead.
